A Hungarian-language textbook by Dr. Csontos Pál was published in China

 

Dr. Csontos Pál is the director of academic affairs at The Summer University of Debrecen, Hungary. He has taught Hungarian to foreigners since 1986 and is currently the director of the Hungarian Side of the Confucius Institute at Debrecen University.

This textbook,< Not Just Hungarian Folk Songs>, edited by Dr. Pál,  it was translated by Ma Xiaoxuan, a Hungarian teacher at Tianjin Foreign Studies University, and reviewed by director Wang Binglin. It has been published by World Book Publishing In August 2020.

The book is intended for anyone whose Hungarian is more than elementary (A1-A2).

Csontos's Book

The textbook is rich in content, reasonably arranged, illustrated, interesting. The body of the lesson consists of six lessons of six folk songs. Each lesson consists of four parts: lyrics, introduction and analysis of lyrics, words and expressions, exercises, and pictures. The additional section contains six supplementary exercises and their reference answers.

The feature of the book is that it adopts a unique way of teaching folk songs, fully stimulates learners' interest in language learning, and integrates language knowledge and traditional culture into it, which reflects the author's ingenuity and rich experience. Just as the author said in the preface: the conscious application of folk songs, nursery rhymes, tongue twisters and other rhythmical language elements in teaching can not only break the monotony of the class, but also make it easier to understand the essence of the language with the help of them, thus attracting The Hungarian language learners.

The publication and distribution of This textbook by Dr. Pál is of great reference value not only for Hungarian teaching and the compilation of relevant textbooks, but also for international Chinese teaching and the compilation of textbooks.
