 Confucius Institute at Debrecen University fall Semester Resume face-to-face

The Confucius Institute is a non-profit educational and cultural institute.

The institute was named after the famous Chinese philosopher, Confucius. According to one of his well-known maxims:  ˝And so the Master said:  ̓It is not worth studying without thinking; thinking without studying is tiresome.̓˝

The Confucius Institutes were established by the People’s Republic of China in order to promote the Chinese language and culture and to develop the countries’ cultural relations.

The Confucius Institutes are present on each and every continent; their diversified activities are coordinated by the Council of Confucius Institute Headquarters (HANBA) located in Beijing.

The Confucius Institute operates all over the world as part of the local educational or cultural institute  together with  a Chinese partner institute. The University of Debrecen’s partner institute is the Tianjin Foreign Studies University. The Institute in Debrecen was established by the University of Debrecen with the support of HANBAN and the Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) in 2019. The Institute is located in the main building of the university.  The classes together with the various events are held in the Institute’s own respective classrooms. The Institute’s basic aim is to teach the Chinese language, to  make the values of the Chinese culture well-known and to strengthen the Chinese-Hungarian cultural and economic relations.
