This week, Ms.Fang and I found a new way to cooperate. Considering the difference between the Chinese level of students in the two classes, Ms.Fang needs to undertake more teaching tasks in the class with lower level, while I need to undertake more teaching tasks in classes with higher level of students. When students' Chinese level is not high, they rely on their mother tongue heavily. Therefore Ms.Fang undertakes the main teaching tasks in that class. When the students' Chinese level is slightly higher, it is appropriate to use immersive teaching.

How time flies, the semester is half past after this week’s class. I feel very happy about this week’s teaching. From the perspective of the teaching content, the knowledge in the textbooks can no longer meet the needs of the students. They learn very quickly and are particularly highly motivated. In each class, Miss Fang and I need to find some videos related to Chinese learning from YouTube or add some Chinese words in class. In addition, I also found that some students were particularly interested in Chinese characters.

Autumn has also arrived in Debrecen. Although the color of the leaves and the growing piles of leaves on the ground all suggest that winter and cold weather is coming soon, here it is still quite wonderful: it is very pleasantly warm during the day, while the weather is particularly cool at night.

I visited Hatvani István Primary School for the first time, where I held the first Chinese lesson for the school's students. The class was extremely exciting for both the students and me. They were very curious and interested in the Chinese language and culture.

Miss.Fang and I designed a five-in-a-row game in class this week to help the students recognize Chinese characters and review the vocabulary they have learned. We have selected 64 words and phrases that we have learned as a chessboard. The words are presented as Chinese characters without Chinese pinyin. The purpose of this design is to enable students to deepen their understanding of Chinese characters through their own searching. Before the game, Miss.Fang explained the rules of the game in Hungarian. The whole class was divided into two groups, and each group chose one person to decide who would play first by way of rock, paper, scissors. After deciding the order of playing five-in-a-row, the team members have about 10 minutes to discuss about how to play based on ensuring that they know the Chinese characters. After the discussion, we began to play five-in-a-row formally. Miss.Fang and I were in charge of a group alone. Students play five-in-a-row by saying Chinese pronunciation. if the first group of students say "hello", we draw a triangle on the words; if the second group of students say "thank you", we draw a circle on the words. The winner is the group whi

This week Miss. Fang and I decided to directly teach lesson 7 after learning the lesson 5. The reason is that the topic of both lesson 5 and lesson 7 are related to Chinese numbers. We believe that this adjustment of the teaching plan will help students learn the Chinese numbers better. Teaching practices on Monday and Wednesday show that this adjustment is feasible. In the cooperative teaching with Miss. Fang, I found a very interesting phenomenon, which is, she can tell the students some Chinese culture in Hungarian, such as the evolution of Chinese characters, the five elements of gold, wood, water, fire and ground, Chang'e flying to the moon and so on. In my previous course on teaching Chinese as a foreign language, one teacher shared that a TCFL teacher who told his student the story about Chang'e flying to the moon was complained because the local people thought he was preaching. In order to avoid similar things, I will not tell the story of Chang'e flying to the moon in the teaching process. Miss. Fang's approach gave me a lot of inspiration. In the future teaching, I can properly tell some traditional Chinese culture appropriately. The purpose of telling is not simply to introduce Chinese culture to students, but to help students better learn Chinese. For example, the purpose of telling the story of Chang' e flying to the moon is to help students read the Chinese character "moon". My Tuesday and Thursday classes were also confirmed, including one-to-two classes in the Confucius Institute and one-to-six classes in the international schools. In general, students have different Chinese level on Tuesday and Thursday classes. Therefore, how to balance the teaching schedule is a big challenge.

The Chinese class for beginners that Miss Fang and I taught this week was much more successful than before, and there were basically no cohesion problems between she and I in classroom. On Wednesday, we used Kahoot to help the students review. The classroom effect with Kahoot is particularly good, and both Miss Fang and I can have a certain understanding of the degree of mastery of the students, and the classroom atmosphere is also more active. In the classroom teaching, we also used some games to help students learn Chinese numbers. In addition, we also let students write Chinese characters and feel the differences between Chinese characters and letters. On Wednesday, we also went to a downtown school together to teach

I received the Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages posted by Center for Language Education and Cooperation.

My only student didn’t attend class today. When I want to leave the Confucius Institute, I found that I don’t have the key for the outside door. It seems that I’m not a lucky girl today.
